Arriving on Campus
The best resource for directions to the campus by car can be found on the transportation website of the university, which can be found at: http://www.cvs.umd.edu/visitors/maps.html Parking On Campus
They are free parking available at various locations on campus weekends and after 4:00pm weekdays. One such location that we suggest is parking in the Regents Parking Garage. Please pay close attention to special events and sporting restrictions (such as Game Day) as well as reserved parking rules. Please be advised that parking regulation on campus may be subject to change. To receive the most up-to-date information and/or to find a free parking locations, please contact the Department of Transportation Services at 301-314-PARK or visit the university transportation website at http://www.transportation.umd.edu. The doors to the Biology/Psychology Building are locked on the weekends, so please call the lab at 301-405-4264 upon arrival so we can have someone come down to let you in. If you parked in Regents Drive Parking Garage: Once you park, exit the parking garage from the elevator closest to the Biology-Psychology Building. You will know you are at the correct exit if you are facing the elevator and there are practice fields to your right (the right of the parking garage). Once you have exited the parking garage, proceed up the stairs and keep walking up the path in between the Biology-Psychology Building and the Plant Science Building. Make a right once you have reached the top of the stairs and proceed to the front of the Biology-Psychology Building. There are picnic tables and benches in front of it. Enter the glass doorway on the far right-hand side of the building. The doors to the Biology/Psychology Building are locked on the weekends, so please call the lab at 301-405-4264 upon arrival so we can have someone come down to let you in. Directions by Metro (WMATA)
Perhaps the easiest way to get to campus is via the Metro transit system. The closet Metro stop to University of Maryland College Park would be the College Park Metro Station on the green line. The College Park Metro Station is the second to last stop on the Green Line, towards Greenbelt. Once exiting the College Park Metro, proceed towards the bus terminals/ Kiss and Ride Exit. There are different options to get to the Campus: UMD Campus Shuttle #104 (Free) or Metro Bus 83, 86, C2, C8, F6 and J4, or Prince George's County Bus System #17 (Route 1).
Directions by Bus (UMD Shuttle, WMATA or Prince George's County Bus System
There are few public transportation options available to arrive on campus. The best option to arrive on campus may be the UMD shuttle #104. The #104 shuttle connects from the College Park Metro Station to Campus, and it is free. Once arriving on campus, get off at the Regent Garage Bus Terminal stop and walk towards the M Circle. Turn right at the corner (you will see Regent Garage on your right and Plant Science & Landscape Building across the street). Walk a gradual uphill on Fieldhouse Drive towards a building loading dock (Regent Parking Garage will be on your right, and Plant Science & Landscape Building will be on your left). The building with the loading dock is the Biology-Psychology Building. You will walk along the Biology-Psychology building by turning left before the street veers right (there will be stairs on your left). Go up the stairs (Plant Science & Landscape building will be on your left and Biology-Psychology building will be on your right). The top of the stairs will be Hornbake Plaza. Once reaching the top of the stairs, turn right. This will get you the front of the Biology-Psychology building. Enter the glass doorway on the far right-hand side of the building. The doors to the Biology/Psychology Building are locked on the weekends, so please call the lab at 301-405-4264 upon arrival so we can have someone come down to let you in. If arriving to campus by Metro Bus, the best resource for directions to the campus can be found on the WMATA Website. There you will find a tool you can use for directions called Trip Planner. The bus routes that go through UMD campus are C2, C8, F6 and J4. Please get off at the Regent Garage Bus Terminal stop, and follow the directions described above. The closest stop for Metro bus routes 83, 86 and Prince George's County Transit #17 will be in front of the entrance to campus (Baltimore Ave & Lakeland Rd). Once getting off the bus, cross the Baltimore Avenue and walk back to the UMD entrance (Baltimore Ave & Campus Dr), and walk slightly uphill on Campus Drive through M Circle. Turn right at Hornbake Plaza after passing the Hornbake Library. The building at the far end of the plaza is the Biology-Psychology Building. There are picnic tables and benches in front of it. Enter the glass doorway on the far right-hand side of the building.
